Hypnosis is a natural and comfortable state of mind. Daydreaming, focusing on a movie, music, or driving a car without being consciously aware of how we arrive at a destination are all examples of how we go into hypnosis every day.

When in hypnosis a person feels very relaxed. Breathing becomes slower and deeper, pulse rate drops, brain waves slow, and the metabolic rate falls. Time distortion is often experienced as well. The conscious mind becomes a passive observer and the subconscious is accessible to rapid positive change.

Myths about Hypnosis

Hypnosis is not a state of deep sleep. When in hypnosis, a person is relaxed but actually in an enhanced state of awareness with heightened mental efficiency, with a highly focused attention.

In hypnotherapy, the focus of attention is the hypnotherapist’s voice. Hypnotherapy is not about being made to do things. In fact it’s the opposite, it’s about empowerment. People cannot be hypnotized to do anything they are not comfortable with, or that would violate their moral or ethical values and our subconscious always has our best interest as its main concern.

Except in popular fiction the days when hypnosis was seen as mind control are long gone. During a hypnotherapy session the client is always in control as the hypnotherapist helps to guide the experience.

The power exists within you to live your dreams and heal your mind and body.
